12/01/2026 - Funding support for the RECONS Network!
Excited to share that Søren Kold and Ali Yalcinkaya have been awarded 770,000 DKK in funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science through the Global Innovation Network Programme (GINP) to support the RECONS Network “The RECONS Network – Establishing a Global Research Network in Reconstructive Orthopaedic Surgery Focused on Patient-Centred Outcomes.”
Anchored at Interdisciplinary Orthopaedics at Aalborg Universitetshospital 🇩🇰, RECONS connects key partners across four continents, including Nationwide Children's Hospital (USA 🇺🇸), Donghoon Advanced Lengthening Reconstruction Institute (South Korea🇰🇷), Institute of Orthopaedics and Rheumatology (South Africa🇿🇦), and Center for Almen Medicin ved Aalborg Universitet (Denmark🇩🇰).
Over 2026–2028, the project will strengthen international collaboration through delegation visits and research stays, and convene two international consensus meetings in Denmark to finalize a Core Outcome Set (COS) and a Core Outcome Measurement Set (COMS)—with a focus on outcomes that matter to patients and practical implementation in clinical and digital systems.
A sincere thank you to Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science and Ministry of Higher Education and Science for supporting this work through GINP.
