04/11/2025 - Strengthening Global Collaboration in Reconstructive Orthopaedics!

Principal investigator of the RECONS study, Ali Yalcinkaya, is currently on a research stay at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Ohio, USA 🇺🇸.

After a stay at Donghoon Advanced Lengthening Reconstruction Institute in Seoul 🇰🇷 and focus group meetings with patients and caregivers in South Africa 🇿🇦, Ali is now collaborating with Dr. Christopher Iobst, Dr. Mubashir Wani, and Dr. Anirejuoritse Bafor MBBS, FMCS, FMCOrtho, FACS, and leading three focus group meetings in the USA to bring patient and caregiver voices directly into our work.

This stay advances the RECONS initiative, which aims to standardise outcome reporting and promote truly patient-centred research in reconstructive orthopaedic surgery.

A special thanks to Aalborg University, Professor Ole Rahbek, and Professor Søren Kold for their continued support and for funding this international research stay.

At Interdisciplinary Orthopaedics, we’re proud to foster global partnerships that connect clinical excellence, innovation, and patient perspectives. 🌐💪
